I visited Long Beach Marine Stadium in 1978 for my first time to attend the Sprint Nationals. It would be a shame and a disservice to end this historical event.

Long Beach City government has been trying restrict and eliminate boat racing at Long Beach Mariine Stadium since the mid-1970s. Doesn't City government have anything better to do with their time than trying to abolish boat racing. Back in the 1960s. The City of Long Beach actively promoted boat racing as the major portion of their successful annual Sea Festival held each August.

I believe that the tradition of these races should continue. As with all sporting activities, there is a level of risk and they are still active. Speed racing is no different.

Please let this event happen. We are slowly losing all motorsports tracks across the United States. Pretty soon we will not be able to enjoy our hobby any longer. So please reconsider denying the opportunity for us
