Stop pets from being rehomed or worse, allow their owners to pay off the fees. Most people don't have hundreds of dollars laying around but live their pets & arent irresponsible.

All pets need a chance to get back to their owners and sometimes the cost is what is stopping them! Please try to work out a reasonable plan to help all involved!!!

Whilst I 100% agree with desexing and micro chipping the fees are extortionate. There should be a payment plan on offer. It has been rumoured that people are deliberately letting out animals so they end up in the pound! Its funny how quickly they do find their way there......

Dogs sometimes like to get out and wander and some go to extremes to do so! Owners most times are not at fault, it could be someone visiting the property leaves a gate open or like my sons staffy chew a color bond gate (gums bleeding never stoped him) to see the young lass on heat up the road and because of someone near by with fireworks :/ he chewed through everything... :/

These fees are a disgusting attempt at revenue raising ... no wonder these pounds are full of poor creatures that many people cannot afford to reclaim!

Reduce fees! The amounts are ridiculous and only contribute to the amount of homeless animals out there.

Please consider a payment plan for people to get their loved ones back home where they belong. Perhaps look at taking a credit card or PayPal as periodic payments till the debt is paid back? That way you still get your fees. Another option would be part payment now and the rest via credit card payment plan. Or what about a finance company? I've recently seen finance payment plans for car servicing. But unsure who the company was? Perhaps this is another option?

Hate the large fees as I lost 2 dogs because I wasn't able to pay that week.

Outrageous, Officers have no need to round up most of the dogs that they do, that are simply on the footpaths outside their yard, and not at all dangerous or causing a public nuisance. Very angry about their underhanded methods.

Holding peoples pets for ransom is what they are doing, they need to lower fee's to a reasonable and justifiable price for a start, as well as offering a payment plan. We had our dog picked up by someone travelling through mount cotton and dropped off in the overnight lock box in the summer heat at Logan council, she was registered in redlands and desexed aswell as microchiped and they never attempted to contact us. We found her picture on the council website and had to rush over to get her as they had someone else coming to claim her. It is wrong to keep someone's pet locked in a cage over a few dollars, our girl still has anxiety attacks when put on a lead or in confined space's. She was dejected and depressed for weeks after being held and it was only three days. Micrchipping only works when the council check and they told us a chip wasn't detected, we took her to the vet and it was found straight away, after all that we still had to pay $180 for release. Very disappointed and disgusted in the way they operate.

There are lots of repeat offenders. Some a big killing machines. I think there should be a payment plan though. All the dogs must be desexed , registered and chipped though.
