I can understand that repeat "escapees" will have to be charged 9Or let's better say their owners, since there must be a problem somewhere why a dog keeps escaping, BUT SURELY NOT FIRST TIMERS!!!!!!

Why are the impound fees so high anyway. Is part of rates allocated to this because it doesn't show on my bill. For goodness sakes make the impound fees redundant and ask for the cost of their stay. You might get a better pick up rate.

As someone who recently copped a $400 fine to get my dogs, I live rural and they are in a fully enclosed yard, someone else accidentally left gate open while visiting my place, first time ever had dogs in pound and it broke my family for the week paying it

Redlands City Council just charged $230 for a cat to be released who had been there 2 night, desexed, microchipped but not registered. $180 release fee.

Logan City Council, please reconsider the high cost of your impound fees, they do seem to be extraordinarily high, not reflective of actual costs. Having said that I believe owners should have to provide excellent reasons for council not to automatically desex, register and microchip their animals before release. Stop the puppy farms and dogs bred for fighting.

Totally agree with Logan council.Registered, desexed, microchipped= 1 free impoundment per year. This should be enough to remind a responsible owner to take extra care. If others can't be bothered, then pay the fee, or send your dog for re-homing where it will be properly cared for. You do not deserve to own a dog and l am certainly not signing a petition against the fees.

Payment plans would definitely help those who through no fault of their own have had pets let out/escape their yards. However i believe this should be direct debited from bank accounts/centerlink payments. That way the counsel will get there money and the pet is reunited.

Would definitely like to see payment plan option. Come on LCC, work with those who try to work with you and build a better community of responsible pet ownership. Reunions of people and fur babies means less strain on LCC resources and greater appreciation for local council.

organising some sort of payment plan makes sense - I've seen grown men in tears because they don't have the money to get their beloved pet out of the pound. Often someone's pet is the last good thing in their lives and these draconian rules do nothing but punish the owners and more importantly, the dogs. Logan is usually pretty dog friendly - c'mon, let's show some common sense here.
Councils need to be more compassionate about animals going home... not everyone has the money to just fork out to get their beloved pet home... show so kindness

I register every year why does it cost so much to get him out of the pound he is 5 year old and if he gets out it will cost me around 4 hundred dollars so why have i pay his rego for the last five years he has never left the yard
