Please consider allowing people to pay off the recovery of their precious pet. It's sometimes very hard to raise extra cash when there isn't much money in the household. Compassion and reduced fees for desexing should be a priority. Logan council could and should lead the way.

Charging outrageous fees doesn't assist responsible pet ownership, the animal is the one who loses out and that's not good enough. Maybe the council should partner with some local vets to provide affordable desexing instead of holding pets and their humans to ransom!

There must be better ways to improve responsible pet ownership and behaviours rather than just to stick a massive tag on escape artist dogs. The cost of putting in control measures would be taken up by the exuberant fees.

I had a crazy neighbour who let my animals out from a fully fenced yard .. it cost me and it cost him nothing ...

If fees were less more animals would be collected and less would die.Less animals impounded equals less need for staff so costs would reduce.

I have lost a loved pet due to the gross large sum of money that we didn't have at the time. It was a couple of days before day and had no money at all. No compassion from the council at all.

I have been here after 8 years of my dog never getting out! Only to find that I couldn't afford to get him back!! Luckily I have very kind parents that helped me and I paid them back! A payment plan would be good!

Some animals are out by accident. Could have been scared or let out. Stop punishing these animals with your unrealistic prices and get them home to their families.

The petition is mainly requesting payment plan options. To say owners can't be bothered to care for their animal if it ends up in the pound is ludicrous, accidents can happen and pets can escape.
