Is this not what happens when we depend on large company's to run our business , this is why in my opinion we should never have done away with our local Daries and the good old milk man, where's the cost effectiveness to the farmer now.

Buying local milk helps local farmers and gives us fresher milk. Let's also pay more for milk so farmers don't suffer

How can we identify local milk? The Scottish flag and the red tractor do not suggest produced in the North or north east Scotland?

The situation for dairy farmers has been bad, and the discrepancy between the shop shelf price and farm gate price of milk has been widening ever since the milk marketing board (MMB) was disbanded in 1994.
The MMB should be reinstated to prevent the number of dairy farms continually declining, and to reintroduce fairness into the dairy products market to stop both farmers and consumers being taken advantage of.

My husband would sign this petition, but as he doesn't "do" Facebook and doesn't have an email address, the petition will not accept his signature . That's a signature lost, that the petition could use!

Milk from our lovely Aberdeenshire cows is just the best. It makes no sense for our milk to be taken 150miles south and returned north again.
We are going to lose a really busy and successful farmimg industry here in the north east if this is allowed to proceed. Our farmers are very hard working, dedicated and take real pride in their farms and cows to bring our milk to our table.

If our supermarkets identified their milk as locally sourced, I don't think that most customers would object to paying a few pence more for it.
