Duh..long overdue! the land that was for the “amphitheater” to bring concerts to the area since you know we are a concert town.. build it there. A Large indoor facility with the ability for young local children to swim year around & Snow birds to flock to. Then put up a new sports complex. And stop paying boys&girls club rent to use a grass field. Even Panama City’s facilities for their children are 200% better than Walton.

This is long overdue!
I drive to Freeport, Destin, or Panama City to swim with my granddaughter. Which costs a lot of time, especially in traffic, and money.
Everyone that is not wealthy enough to afford their own pool, or belong to an HOA that has a pool is deprived of exercise, fun, socialization, and the ability to learn valuable and lifetime skills.

Yes we have been wanting this for a long time! Seniors need a pool too!! Many seniors in our community! Would help us come together, improve mobility and general overall health. Would be a wonderful thing to see all age groups enjoying it. It needs to be useful all year round also. I’m thinking like a YMCA type facility…many indoor activities/sports/courts for year round use and also with an outdoor pool for summertime. Swimming in the Gulf is not safe nor feasible for many. I’ve wondered since I’ve lived here (11years) why we don’t already have one! All the talk of the amphitheater that’s projected is non-sense compared to an aquatic center/YMCA type facility.

As a resident and parent in Walton County, an aquatic center would make our community safer and more family friendly versus only having the Gulf or Bay to swim in.

Destin or Frank Brown is the closest and there is nothing offered indoors and the Hammock Bay pool is not heated

I am 67 yrs old with both hips and 1 knee replaced. Swimming would be the best exercise for myself and, I imagine, a lot of other seniors in the county. Please give this petition serious consideration!!
