It's a shame that these girls work hard to try and EARN their spot on the team just to have it ripped out from beneath them when finding out the team was chosen prior to try-outs!

I do believe this is completely unfair. It's unfair that my daughter should have to worry because she did make it. Not because she cheated or payed for a place. She got the spot because she has taken numerous dance classes, comp classes. She got it because she practices EVERY day. She got it because of the love and passion she puts in. Not to mention that each child was judged by there own teachers and school representatives based on morals and ethics at school. So yes it is completely UNFAIR that any little girl shoyld be made to feel like a cheater for their success.

This is so ridiculous! My neice is a amazing athlete and has worked hard to get to this point!!! And all these adults are making her feel bad ... because other girls did not make it and she did. This is ridiculous that JUNIOR HIGH cheerleading tryouts have turned into such a big ordeal such as this!!!! My neice has to walk around thinking ppl are thinking she got special treatment or was bought in.. when she made it based on pure talent, because adults cannot be mature adults about the situation!!!

Point of this is coach should not have gave private lessons, coach should not have had favoritism and school should have done something when this was first brought to their attention. Let tryouts be done over fairly and those deserving will get spots your child did it once and it won't hurt to do it again this is not children's fault it's the schools and coaches and due to their actions or lack thereof children are suffering..

The coach should not even be allowed to judge the tryouts .. she made the girls sign a paper in the packet that said she would be the judge and would pick the girls she wanted no matter the scores when my daughter tried out .. she was on the pom squad before I decided to homeschool them due to the horrible bullying in the jr high and high school here in Lincoln.....
Forgot to add that one of the pom girls in 6th grade paid for lessons during the summer (over 500$) and surprise she made the 7th grade cheer team ... This is very wrong!! How can the coach get paid for lessons and then put the girl on the squad? Getting paid for spots???

No one is bashing the children who made it. Even if they got their way paid for. It would be the parents, the COACH, and the school. Tryouts should never be judged by a coach that is getting money on the side for lessons. It was never a big deal until this new cheer coach.
