My daughter tried out this year after being on the poms team last year and didn't make it this year. She has been in dance since she she was 4 and is now almost 14. I am all for girls getting all the help they desire to make a team, but she SHOULD NOT have given lessons to any girls trying out for the squad as that isn't fair to those that didn't have the means to. I am disappointed with how this process has gone; however, I am not surprised it did happen.

The issue is that the coach should not have held private lessons. None of the girls should feel bad for their achievement, they worked hard. The point is, the coach did some unethical things in this process and should not have put the girls in this situation to have to feel this way. Of course the other girls are going to give them a hard time, they are in Jr. High. The coach should have known the animosity this would create. Bad judgement call for sure on her part!

The coach should have not given private lessons period to anyone that could potentially be on the team. It's kind of like insider trading, which by the way is highly illegal. Now I'm not saying getting training and practice is wrong. Just not by the boss it shows favoritism. I guess nothing changes in Lincoln that certain people and families are "entitled" because of their name.
