Little Miami Stakeholders Against the Proposed Flags and Displays Policy

Hello. I work in a school in northeast Ohio and we are currently going through a similar situation presently, We are reaching out to other schools in Ohio to seek advise, information, anything that might help us fight for our rights to support all students and freedom of speech. Thank you in advance for your help.

LGBTQ+ youth deserve to feel safe and welcomed in their school and classrooms. It could potentially save the life of a child to know somebody is on their side.

My property taxes support this school district and I am tired of a minority of extremist parents exerting control over our public institutions. Allowing this to happen is a dangerous precedent. These parents have other choices with the state sponsored voucher system if our wonderful public schools are not good enough for them. Do not let them bully us by bending to their whims.

Teachers should have the freedom to decorate their classrooms without more layers even more interference by outside influence seeking to use the government to restrict the speech they dislike. Leave the decision up to the administration, other teachers, students, and parents, not a former teacher fired from his job who has a clear disdain for public education.

I am a Little Miami alumni and would have described the environment as "hostile" at best for minority groups. This feels like a grab to make the hostility more known and acceptance harder to find in an already unaccepting place.

Removing politics from the classroom? What a joke. Wallace is purposely shoving his personal political agenda down childrens' throats. What a disgusting human being.

Take your bigotry nonsense elsewhere, clowns. We are seriously tired of it.

This is ridiculous, people fighting against making classrooms more inclusive. Trying to restrict teachers when they already have to fight uphill battles all the time.

Don’t take away teacher’s ability to make their class warm & inviting.

Fight the good fight, teachers! Don’t let extremist parents and people with agendas dim your light! You are there to make a difference and lead by example. I want my children to learn to be respectful, kind, inclusive, and empathetic to all. As should everyone.

This policy restricts the learning environment. It does not allow teachers to express their personalities and welcome students into their rooms. As a history teacher, I have historical quotes, maps, and historical newspaper covers blankets my walls. These displays, while not 100% related to my specific curriculum, paint a picture of "we're here to learn history, it matters." I'm afraid if I worked in Little Miami, I would not be able to display these items, which would make my classroom less welcoming.

This policy is ridiculous. Saying they want to keep politics and personal philosophies out of the classroom while trying to force their own political beliefs into the classroom. They are hypocrites and these people should have no power in the education system within Little Miami School District.
