We the citizens of Orange County have spoken out decisively against the proposed revisions to the Comprehensive Plan. The current proposal embraces a sprawling vision that will negatively impact the quality of life for all Orange County citizens. We hereby urge the Board of Supervisors to reject the changes and begin the process again, basing any changes on input from the citizens of Orange County.
Please do NOT follow the map for A-2 which includes forestal, farming land and the Preddy Creek Trails Park land. Yes, Steve Birchel, developer of Preddy Creek Subdivision, has a beautiful big parcel in this area but why should HE make even more big bucks at the expense of the water table and natural resources, as well as neighbors like me who value woods and farms?

We moved away from the city to get away from the noise, congestion and the crowd. We chose OC because of its zoning laws. We don’t want this to change nor do we want this Comprehensive plan.

I am against the revisions to the Comprehensive plan and expansive growth for Orange County that does not have the infrastructure to support. I support keeping growth to the original plan and maintaining the agricultural land and history and country side of Orange.

As I have stated previously, the word "infilling" as used in the A2 Category is just a soft word for sprawl. Support the many successful and growing forms of agriculture in Orange County -- our vineyards, nurseries, greenhouses, etc. Don't destroy what people come here for. I oppose the revised Comp Plan.

The proposed changes to the current Comprehensive Plan should be rejected. They are a land developers' proposal, not a plan for economic development of the county.

The purpose of public hearings is to recieve the public's feelings on any given subject. These feelings, if valid, opinions should be reflected in the final product. The Planning Commission ignored much of the public input. Hopefully the BOS is listening and will respond.
