LINKnet is part of the infrastructure for social cohesion in Edinburgh. The Council should be supporting it with both hands, in the interests of the city, as well as the service users.

Link-Net has provided an excelant service to the BME communities for a many years. We need to maintain this really effective support for all those who need it

LINKnet have provided an invaluable service to many for a number of years. Services for BME communities are essential at a time when many struggle with multiple disadvantages as well as discrimination and in some cases race hate crime. Whilst we fully understand the need to reduce budgets and the pressure that the council is under, please do not further erode essential services to those who are struggling to find their place in the community and need BME services to help them to do so.

I am so concerned that the infrastructure to support Black/Minority Ethnic poeple in Edinburgh is further diminished. This is a very important service.

It is very concerning that almost all genuine support structures for ethnic minority people are disappearing. We know times are hard and there is less money to go round but losing this vital support for the weakest in our society can only compound the situation for them and for all of us. All yee decision makers at the CEC please look at this issue again. Closing yet another ethnic minority organisation? One which offers mentoring to vulnerable people to help them find their meaningful place in this society; get a job, pay taxes and make their contribution like the rest of us?! That will be a great loss. Most of us initially needed the Linknets of this world to build our confidence and move on. We need to maintain this really effective support for all those who need it. Please do not close our Linknet!
