here in manorhaven, port washington " we" were sucessful in keeping a 125' tower built smack in the middle of one of the most populated suburban areas in new york state. marches, meeting, in and out of courts the tower was turned on june 2013. some of us are still fighting to get it turned off and down. owning a cell phone is a choice. being "mircrowaved" 24 hrs. a day from cell tower emissions, is not! keep making noise. don't go away. we need to teach our children this country still is a democmy thoughts are with you. good luck......

let's start a grassroots movement of this and band together to run for office against any local politician that does not cooperate in stopping this.

I keep hearing everyone say that everyone carries a cellphone so why not put in the tower. Well, that's not true, Because I DON'T carry a cellphone. And I live next to the venetian site. So why should I be subjected to the cellphone towers electromagnetic frequency emissions?

I am a Lindenhurst resident and still serving in the US Army Reserve. My MOS, or military occupation specialty is CBRNE operations (15+ years) which is chemical, biological, radiological, & nuclear. While my experience is limited I can say cell phones themselves emit a pretty signifagant dose of gamma radiation, enough so that when you place a dosimeter near it, it begins letting you know the you are receiving a small dose of radiation. Now the long term effects are yet to be realized, but I'm confident in saying it won't be good. However we are all dependant on these devices for the foreseeable future. My concern is you put one of these towers up not knowing how much exposure the nearby residents are getting from it, you my be damning them to some type of illness, not to mention their property value. Furthermore what about five years from now when the thing needs to be upgraded? This tower belongs no where near a resident neighborhood. Anyone on this town board that supports it should move next to it with their families and make themselves the guinea pigs.
