Born and raised here and love my city. It's the best in Canada, and I expect to pay more to live here. But something is wrong when even the people earning top professional salaries can't get a reasonable place for their families.

No one is being hurt. Lots of of my friends and family own homes and everyone is doing great. The only people complaining are the losers who missed out.

Nothing needs to be done to the market. It is a free market and that is how it should stay.

I'm a homeowner in Vancouver - it's not just people trying to get into the market who are hurt by these insane price jumps. If you're ever planning to upgrade your property, these increases just make that harder. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!

Please also note for all you babies out there. You don't have to live in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland. Move where you can afford to live. Sorry but that is how life works. Lots of room in Trail, Kamloops, Prince George etc. You have no right to live in the City I was born and raised in. Most of you fools are from other provinces. The people that were born and raised here have homes and have done well. The only cry babies are all of you hicks from other provinces that should move back and leave this City to the people who can afford it. None of my friends are crying....only people crying are the downtown condo renters who partied too much and did too many drugs and now wonder why they are priced out. Move away, we don't want you here. Vancouver is thriving, look outside, lots of hustle and bustle. Please leave...you lot are depressing....

You babies need to stop crying, This is called a free market and that is how it works. While you guys are doing up dumb petitions nobody cares about people are working hard and saving money and buying houses. Let your jealous go, and accept the fact that others were smarter than you and bought houses when they were cheap, while you sat around renting and eating out everyday. Too bad so sad. Quit trying to mess up our economy just because you are jealous!!!!!!!!

2 giant houses built on my block sitting empty. Formerly there were 2 solid family homes on those lots. Our Provincial Government are pathetic in their lack of leadership in allowing our city to be sold to foreigners who bring nothing to our society. Only greedy real estate agents and developers benefit from this sham

Foreign Real Estate Investment must be stopped now, with no excuses. Stop using lack of data as a pathetic excuse for doing nothing.

I would like to point out the bank are at fault too. I work at a bank and they offer higher leveraging mortgages to foreigners then resident with minimum paperwork compared to the locals

time to take back vancouver. My wife and I are electrical engineers. We get close to 200k per year. We have 2 kids and we cannot afford to buy close to our work. I work at west vancouver and yet I'm RENTING in richmond. I have to cross 3 bridges everyday I go to work. I work for the District of West Van, I pay my taxes like many honest hard working Canadians. It makes no sense that these foreigners get to park their money and register multi million dollar homes under "housewife" or "student" while they benefit off 1/3 of my salary? Why am I paying taxes to benefit these millionares that are taking advantage of our tax system? Robertson, it's time to stand up for YOUR PEOPLE. We need you to FIGHT for US because we voted YOU to do that. Christy is NOT going to do anything, I can't wait to vote her out.

Support the citizens who live, work and pay taxes - not the foreign investors who merely use Canada as a means to an end for their own needs. Respect for Canadians and Canada is sorely needed by our politicians who are only concerned with short-terms benefits.

It is time for the government to do something this is ridiculous. My wife and I pull in $160k a year, no kids and still can not afford to buy a 2 bedroom place. I work in the construction industry and realize that the foreign money pouring is helping our building boom and creating jobs but, at this rate there will soon be no one here able to sustain these jobs because they can not afford to live here. The government is turning a blind eye so the crooked politicians, government and developers can rob the tax payers. I am surprised not more people are out protesting, wait half the people are not living here and paying taxes. To add more to insult some of the wealthiest neighborhoods have the highest welfare claims... go figure?
