We the undersigned, as citizens and visitors of Lihue, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii and it's surrounding communities, support the development of a free public skatepark within our city.  We recognize the need for and the benefits of a free public skatepark that would provide a designated place for our children and community to skateboard and keep them off private property.  Currently, our children have to travel to other towns to other skateparks, but with Lihue being the central district of the island with alot of County park space, it would make a lot of sense to build one here.  With no designated areas to skate at, our children often get in trouble for skating on public or private property.  If they had a skatepark to utilize, it would keep them off the streets and allow them to skateboard & have fun without feeling like they are committing a crime!
