This proposed development is totally out of proportion and style with anything in the area, it would stick out like a sore thumb and would be an eye sore for the residential community all around. Please take a look at York Road developments such as The School Yard, Battersea Reach and The Candlemakers and also, the Fulham Riverside development by Barratt. These are all of suitable height, density and design, why can't the Homebase development keep in line with these and they would face far less resistance.
There are a number of similarly outrageously tall proposed developments around this area, why can't all the developers discuss their requirements of affordable and social housing with the council as part of a real community strategy including the Winstanley Estate redevelopment. Surely all requirements can be met if all the steakholders if they all talk to each other and most importantly, really engage with the local resident community to have an amazing regeneration that works for everyone.

The development proposed seems incongruous unless the intent is to create a Canary Wharf-style high-rise zone against the character of the area and what I understand is the council planning policy for this zone. This is sure to impact heavily on the already dysfunctional traffic and poor transport options in this area.

We recognize development is required in the are but the scale, mass, height and lack of style in the area and impact oh existing community have not been thought through by the Council. The strategy document for the area is rather like closing the door after the horse has bolted- large heigh large mass buildings are already approved and in some case being build not taking into account residents concerns.

My Home is directly impacted by the proposed development. My only source of light faces the proposed development, which will leave my home permanently in the shade. This is unacceptable and the developer must consider a compromise to compensate for the terrible shadow that will be permanently cast on my property.

The proposed buildings are a clear case of over development of the site in my opinion. Massing is too great. The height is robbing neighbours of light and views. The provision of new space for the Royal Academy of Dance (laudable as it may be) should not be a reason to flout all planning guidelines and ignoring the many objections to the scheme. It should not be a vanity project!
