LIGHT NOT HEIGHT

Strongly Object as the Development is too High & much too much for the area.

This is typical of what is wrong with the London planning system! One rule for one and a completely different one for everyone else! Appaling demonstration of corrupt politics!

I have lived in Plantation Wharf for over 25 years and can only endorse all the concerns already voiced on this petition. The scheme is grossly oversized for the site and the surrounding infrastructure and will without doubt effect the quality of life of those who live near site. We, and our plants, value and cherish the morning to afternoon sunlight which drenches our first floor terraces and ask you not to take this away from us. The developer should be asked to redesign a more appropriate and considerate scheme please. Thank you.

I object to the developers proposals for the Homebase Battersea site. The scheme is over scaled and will be detrimental to the amenity of the neighbouring residential properties. No improvements have been made by the developer since the first application in spite of the number of objections and in spite if the local authority's strategic plan which until recently has stated that this is not an area for very tall buildings. The road and transport infrastructure will also not sustain the increase in traffic as it is already congested and circulation for local traffic is already under strain. This project is maximising commercial profit at the expense of building a good, workable and appropriate townscape.

The towers on the river front have always made sense as the river acts as a forced space between the developments in Fulham and Wandsworth and the river front developments are far enough away from the York Road residents not to cause light and overshadow them. Building a tower in between York Road and the riverfront developments just makes no sense, reduces light, causes further traffic problems and could have been designed so much better. It is too high! The school yard development further down the road was done to the correct hight does not overshadow Battersea Reach and looks in fitting. Why did the council not use this as a template for a better redevelopment of the Homebase site?

I would gain great pleasure in seeing this community developed further, we all need to be flexible and have vision for what is to come. This is clearly short term-ist, non-community focused solution – with too many unresolvable issues.

To have light in our flat is extremly important to us, this was one reason why we moved into our apartment and I think its highly disrepectful to take this away from so many families. I agree that the council should invest into this area, the riverside is such a lovely area but the rest is quite rundown. But why is a tower the only way to do it?

I concur with the comments made. And also feel the council planning team have not considered all the stakeholders properly.

I visited the Developers at a presentation to see their latest plans just over a month ago. The plans include buildings that are needlessly tall (the location they are in does not require the number of floors they have, to have a view of the river) and would dwarf all of the surrounding areas, with significant light impact. The new plans have simply no amenities, open spaces etc any longer for local people to benefit from, due to the revision of the plan to include the RAD. The sheer volume of residences proposed, combined with the lack of parking spaces proposed, means the plans in no way account for the levels of congestion in what is already an extremely congested area.

I strongly object to the hight of the proposed towers, since they will block all natural light to my flat during the morning, this development will have a massive negative impact on the local residents.

The 21 story towers are way to tall and not in line with the rest of the buildings in the area which average 8 to 9 story high. I live in Trade Tower and the proposed tall towers will block all the natural sunlight to my south east facing apartment. Also it seems Wandsworth council have completely ignored all objections and regulations just because Royal Academy of Dance is due to be located in the new development, personally I don't see what is the big deal, it will only mean a lot of disruption to the local residence and lowers our quality of life, increasing the congestion on the local transport system!! please stop the building the skyscrapers or limit the hight to 8 story like the rest of the buildings in the area.

More than likely the flats will be bought by overseas investors who will never live in them and won't even pay their council tax, which the rest of us would have to do if we left a property empty.

Battersea is not Dubai. This will benefit no one except the developers and non doms. It will not help any locals climb the housing ladder.

I am concerned about losing light and the detrimental change to the area that buildings of this height will have. Please reconsider.

How this planning has got this far, is unbelievable. Everything is going UP which equals no light, dense population, concentrated pollution and less open space for trees.

I strongly object to this massive over-development and negative impact it will have on existing residents. I am very concerned about the issue of lighting.
