Banded in 2007, all fluid out in 2008 due to complications. Band slipped in 2011 cutting ALL blood supply from my stomach and almost killing me literally. This needs to be seriously looked at for those of us that were told this was a revisable surgery that was "minimally" invasive.

Lap bands are dangerous, I suffered through one for 11 years.
They should be illegal worldwide.

I just was able to get my lap band removed. My insurance would not pay.

I am a lap band patient and have the bad 20 years November 1st in testing now to see what's wrong with it it's been causing me grief for some time now

Banded 2009,have had nothing but problems since. Insurance refused to remove band. now retired no money to remove it...

I had extensive damage from the lapband. 3 holes in my stomach, almost died. Worst pain of my life. Now I have a horrendous scar to remind me of the hell I went through

They like to deny that it is the band. They always blame it on the patient, this is soooo wrong. This gives them a chance to make more money on those $300 fills/ unfills. Which do no good, if its broke, or has eroded into your other organs. Many people have had it, become attached to their livers, lungs, and spleens. How can this be healthy ? My hose wrapped arund my spleen causing damage. I often wonder if it had anything to do with my thyroid as well, which is now removed. Praying for you !

Yes we were lied to, many things I was not told. Peoples lives and situations change. They never said, if you don't stick with the original surgeon, no one will want to see you. That they see you as a liability. Like shouldn't all these surgeons be on the same track ? Obviously, they don't trust each other enough to back up each others work. Therefore making us suffer, by refusing to see or treat us. Praying for you !

to say the least, the life long issues it causes are horrendous. Funny how you have to have a psych eval to get it, but the mental torture it causes, are enough to make anyone mentally unstable. Praying for you !

It has made many pop up with Autoimmune illnesses. It's sad, that we suffer from a device, that was supposed to make us sooooo healthy again. THEY LIED !!!
