It is very difficult to get a court for tennis with the present number of courts. I can not imagine how difficult it will be with fewer tennis courts.

I like that you’re looking at alternatives however, Centercourt is the heart of the club and would change completely the dynamic of all outside activities. I suggest converting one court completely to Pickleball and then enabling one or two other courts to convert to one or the other, depending on high usage times for the two sports. Pickle ball is not a quiet sport. The players love to play music when playing. This would take away from the cafe and all who would love to sit outside and enjoy a little bit relaxation. With our people screaming, music and the loud sounds of pick ball.

There is not enough parking to accommodate more Pickleball courts. If we need another one then make it temporary with removable Pickleball nets for a trial period first.

Preserve tennis. If you had kids and wanted them to take up a sport would you put a pickle ball paddle or a tennis racket in their hands.

Why brag about spending $500K on the outdoor fitness area just so that your 'priority' members will have to listen to all that noise from pickle ball on center court? Will those who want to sit and enjoy the outdoor tables have to listen to the workout music with one ear and the clacking of pickle ball in the other? As a friend of the Steve Johnson family who spoke at the dedication ceremony, the thought of his name and legacy being aligned with four pickle ball courts makes me cringe. If you're only taking ONE court, please choose another and leave our beautiful and idyllic Steve Johnson center court alone.

The noise of pickle ball on the center court would be an issue for the neighbors as well as the relaxing environment of the club.

Being a member the 2nd year of the original club I always enjoyed and still do the beautiful view looking out over center court to the ocean. Now just the thought of having to listen to the sound of pickle balls bouncing off our beautiful center court is, just not right.....
Please don't do this to our club.

Instant resignation by someone that supported this place through Covid. It’s a memorial center court representing the best of OC. Your members that are trying to relax and work up above will be annoyed by the sound. Do it down below where you’re next to a road. We have a significant number of members that will quit. Good luck with the increased parking fiasco and noise complaints that the city will be well aware of thanks to us……

The sound of the pickle ball will so annoying to sit in our beautiful patio and have to hear that annoying sound of that pickle ball
How sad to have a beautiful club and enjoy our patio
And have to endure that sound
Please think about the Niose it will bring to our beautiful club

Imagine trying to enjoy a pleasant tennis match on one of the courts closest to center court. Seems like the leadership’s concern for the enjoyment of tennis has taken a back seat. Not to mention (as mentioned several times), the eating area, fireplace lounge and outdoor workout area, etc.
Center court is an echo chamber. I wonder how long it will be before the people living on the hill will complain.

I was an original member of RSC Tennis from the very beginning and have been an active LT member since the acquisition of the property. I play on Center Court often and it is truly one of the most beautiful tennis venues in Southern California. It would be a shame and total disappointment if Center Court was converted to pickleball courts. Please reconsider the proposed change and leave Center Court as is and convert another court to pickleball. Thank you!

The proposed change is ill conceived and will significantly degrade the member experience for all. Any added PB court should be further away from the social and relaxation areas of the club due to the noise levels in generates. The continued push away from LT’s tennis roots will diminish the overall environment that now makes the facility such a jewel in SC. Tennis players will be seeking alternatives.

I oppose the switch of tennis courts to pickeball courts and in particular switching center court to pickleball. The noise of pickleball is a known issue and will make the unique outdoor space dramatically less desirable. The club already has a substantial parking issue that it is failing to address and creating additional density is highly undersirable. The club is continuing to move towards a basic gym membership and as such my interest in paying high dues for a gym membership are decreasing.

The loss of more courts and especially the loss of center court will cause me to consider other options to play tennis. Just want to make sure you know you are likely to lose a lot of tennis players if you take away one of the clubs unique attributes. The beautiful center court
