We, the undersigned, believe that the Village of Libertyville Parks & Recreation needs to make improvements to the Dance Studio Program. Such program reforms would include the following; better class organization, proper assessment of student ability for class level, quality teacher employees, proper & ongoing training for teachers, better communication between teacher and parent on class schedule, cancellations, holidays, etc.. Rules on proper class dance attire enforced, age appropiate costumes and choreography used for recital. Furthermore, one class a week does not provide progression in the fundamentals of dance and should be increased in order to teach these fundamentals and to compete with the cost of local private dance studios. Above all, the classes need to reflect a positive fun learning environment for all students. As concerned citizens, we desire that the Village Board, Committee Members and Administrative Directors implement change accordingly in the Dance Program. Such change would be powerful proof that our local Parks and Recreation are fully committed to providing quality programs to the citizens of Libertyville and surrounding areas.
