Funding allocated to young persons initiatives will pay dividends in the health and well-being to these young people’s development into adulthood as they are our future.

I think Cof E council assumes South Side equates to leafy suburb , but pockets of need exist near to affluence .

I think it’s disgusting that our youth have suffered again. There is nothing for them to do. It’s always poor niddrie, pilton, granton etc. They give their youth the money but these youngsters come up this way looking for trouble so half them don’t even want it or are even interested it. Our kids have nothing. If it wasn’t for good trees I don’t think there would be one thing for the teenagers. Believe me I know about all the problems with the youth. Teenagers looking for trouble who came up this area looking for my 16 year old grandson with knives. My grandson had never been in trouble in his life. But due to the problems with these angry youths full of testosterone and territorial disputes my grandson is in prison now at 17 years old, and WHY ? Because nobody knows how to cope with them. EDC get a grip

I have lived in the Moredun/Craigour area of the city for over 58 years. I grew up here and also raised my son who is now 27 here and it is an area that has ALWAYS been neglected. It is time that this area had its fair share of funding and facilities so that the children of tomorrow no longer feel that they don’t matter!

Liberton/Gilmerton receives no funding from the Communities and Families Grants to Third Parties Programme despite many areas being in the lowest SMID in Scotland
Youth crime in this area is at a crisis point with no dedicated youth work services to tackle this
