Carissa Browne July 12 · Edited St Kitts and Nevis investigating ‘large sum’ of money coming from Iraq – Prime minister Douglas!! JULY 11, 2014 BASSETERRE, St Kitts, Friday July 11, 2014. Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas has confirmed that investigations have started as to how USD$1.5 million had found its way into an account in bank here, even though the money had been returned to the source of origin in Iraq. Dr. Douglas, who is also Minister of Finance, said he had become aware that “a large sum of money arrived in the Federation from Iraq for the purpose of purchasing 10 acres of lands in Nevis owned by the Nevis Island Administration, CCM led (NIA). “I am aware that the banking system in St. Kitts in particular refused to accept the money and refused to lodge the money into the account of (Octagon Consultants Limited) that is owned by (Vance W Amory and his wife Verni Amory) He said that that even though the USD$1.5 million was returned to the place of origin (Iraq)“ we have been further informed that what appears to be the very same money – but with an INCREASED amount to it. The USD$1.5 million – then appeared in the banking system again this time in Nevis and in fact entered into a personal account of persons who were deemed to be ordinary persons who may not have had good reason to have such large sums of money deposited in their account”. “I understand that some action has been taken by the management of the bank with regard to the staff (Lorna Hunkins and Denise Walters) that might have been involved,” Dr. Douglas said without elaborating.

This petition will close at 9am today. We thank those of you who signed and your votes of confidence will be added to the lists at home. We thank Mr. Parry and the executives on NRP for not giving up on the people of Nevis even after it seemed like the people turned their backs in the last election. They have proven themselves to be honest, forthright and committed to the advancement of the people of Nevis. If you have not signed the petition, please do so now. Again we thank you for your continued support. May God bless you and may our collective efforts be to the betterment of Nevisians at home and abroad.

Unethical practices and behavior by Government officials is unacceptable as it sends the wrong message to honest, law abiding citizens.

Today we share a rose from Carlisle Hobson's garden...lest we forget!! CCM has not even to this day acknowledged his death except to try and place a CCM activist into his job two days later before the autopsy was done!

The Men in Blue certainly have a lot to answer to! by Bugz, Monday, July 07, 2014, 07:55 (2 hours, 19 minutes ago) Well, well, well! It seems as though the ghost of the 80 acres is back, just in smaller parcels: 10 acre size! Why do these little blue boys seem to have a love affair with stealing Nevis people land? The questions that Richard Nickson were asked before he resigned the Presidency of the United States must also be asked of our own PRIM-AIR here in Nevis: What did he know and when did he know it? I laso have a few more questions: Who alerted the horn-kins girl who just got suspended that $1.5 million was on its way to the bank? Who gave the the account numbers of the private individual in whose account the money was deposited? What is the role of the Minister of Lands and Housing in this sorry affair? Why was the money for government land not deposited in the account of the Lands and Housing Development Corporation? Why did our PRIM-AIR resign as the owner of the trust company one day before the money was received? This sordid affair is more than the smell of a RAT. This is a snake lurking below the grass fleecing the people of Nevis. Only now we truly need a Commission of Inquiry in this country because these vagabonds certainly have a lot of questions to answer to!

Corruption has numb the society. Nevis , thanks to CCM has lost its moral compass. It is unfortunate that most Nevisians now accept that it is OK for government Ministers to steal. Many want to join government not for the love of country but to fatten their proverbial nest. CCM makes Sadam, and Assad look like Mother Teresa. Dr. Theodore Daniel
