This Bill will put legislation in place to allow a government department to charge a levy on travel. The funds raised from this would be used to purchase blanket medical insurance for all people travelling to the UK and all visitors coming to the Island from the UK at a cost of £1.70 per trip for £100,000 of cover with no exclusions for existing or previous health conditions and age.
We, the undersigned ask all MHKs of the Isle of Man to support the Private Members Bill being introduced by Peter Karran MHK on Tuesday, 2 February 2010 We also ask that Chief Minister, Tony Brown, allow a Free Vote for all MHKs on this issue.

This would be such a huge relief for families. The way it is now is just plain stressful when you travel.
£1.70 is nothing for the peace of mind it gives you. stop blocking it and let people vote.
my mum has a pre-existing condition and we worry sick every time she goes over to see family. please back this bill.
Finally some common sense. Should have been sorted years ago.

Need this for the island. Good job Peter.
