I have voted Lib Dem in local and general elections. I do feel affinity to the party, but I completely disagree with the party's stance on this issue. I agree with this pledge.

If Sex Based Rights Declaration was already party policy, you would have much greater support. Fathers, sons, brothers & friends too want greater protections for the females in their lives

Without proper regard for women and girl's existing rights upon which their safeguarding depends I can no longer vote LibDem, even though a supporter for two decades and living in a marginal seat once held by the libdems. Wake up Jo Swinson, females matter.

I have voted Lib Dem on many occasions but despite being pro-remain I do not feel I can vote for them this time while the party line is to ignore women's concerns over self-id and to go out of their way to accommodate transwomen with extreme views and dubious histories like Aimee Challenor and Sarah Brown who wish to shut down women with concerns and refuse to allow discussion of proposed changes to the law which will affect us.
I want to know that if I'm on a single sex hospital ward that I won't be next to a man in a surgical gown who was placed there because he was wearing a dress when he was brought in, despite male name, legal sex, gender identity etc. (Current NHS policy). I don't want to present at a dv shelter or seek counselling for rape and be faced with a male person on the staff. I don't want to request a female HCP for my smear test and be treated by a male who identifies as a trans female and I don't want to take my daughter for her first bra fitting and hear male voices in the other cubicles. This is not trans phobia but an understanding if what self id will permit and the already visible erosion of women's safe spaces. Rather than provide a 3rd space or have a trans policy related to the law, companies are being poorly advised by Stonewall and other lobby groups to introduce self id, essentially making single sex spaces mixed sex. This goes against safeguarding principles and ignores Equality law which permits single sex spaces to exclude all members of the opposite sex legally. This is detrimental to women who prefer to be in single sex spaces when vulnerable, in intimate situations and in states of undress and indirectly discriminates against those whose religion forbids them to share spaces with males. A change in presentation is not a change of sex. Please support us to reach a compromise whereby trans people can seek genuine accommodations e.g. a gender neutral cubicle in large department stores; make the gents toilets unisex and retain fema

I resigned from the Liberal Democrat’s over this issue. When they call or doorstep me I tell them why but all of them at a local level are completely clueless on this issue. Yet it will cost them women’s votes.

I have been a LibDem voter for over 15 years, but the parties current approach to this issue has seriously made me think of not voting in the upcoming election.
It is not enough to just be the anti-Brexit party.

I am a lifelong Lib Dem voter, appalled that women (and children) are being thrown under the bus for the sake of the party’s ill-thought out pandering to a regressive ideology. I have no-one to vote for in this election.

I can't vote for the party unless they change their policies to protect women's sex-based rights.

Women’s rights should not be trampled on by anyone else’s rights. The rights of all women aren’t incompatible if all show respect. Otherwise the patriarchy wins again.

I'd love to vote Lib Dem but the official party line is that you don't want my support because I don't believe humans can change sex. Give up your demented misogyny and adopt this declaration and I'll put my tick in the box with pleasure.

I would love to vote Lib Dem, but absolutely can't due to complete lack of any critical thinking with regards to Women's sex based rights, not to mention the complete lack of scrutiny with Amiee Challenor and Layla Moran's ability to see people's 'souls' and decide that they are more equal than women. You are aliening some many women and men.

I’m not a LibDem - a pro-pimp party - but it’s good to see a glimmer of reason like this petition. One can only hope it signals something positive.

Women's sex-based rights and protections must be debated, not overruled by a desire to be 'woke' and kind to everyone

Just because we are many does not mean that we are free of oppression....still. Femicide and disastrous rape figures prove this, as does signing a petition in the unpaid bit of the year, due to wage inequality. Women must be a priority for you for you to be a legitimate option for us to vote for

Well done for this. However until it’s party policy, my vote goes elsewhere (ex-member and lifelong supporter up until now).
