This case shows the urgent need for real protections for LGBT employees. In this case, Mrs. Bailey's conduct was entirely proper and did not warrant any type of punishment. The fact that she has been penalized simply for truthfully responding to a student's questions about her family, is atrocious. This is absolutely a case of discrimination, and an offensive one at that.

This policy is archaic and outdated. Those opposed to LGBT people working with kids and in education are in total lack of respect of human rights, American values, and basic decency.

No one should go through this based on who they love. I'm a Christian and feel it is not right for anyone of us to judge another for that's Gods job alone. Let her love whoever she wants and not worry about her job for it!
