How can we expect our kids to get a fair and just education if we are not fair and equal to all? We say the bullying needs to stop then turn around and bully those who are not like us. We have to be the examples of love and kindness if we expect our kids to do so. Every teacher and student should have equal rights and no teacher should ever be fired for trying to be inclusive. What example are we setting if we fire a teacher who is simple trying to use her voice to better the face of education?

As a former Mansfield student, and a current educator, I’m dumbfounded by this. In a time where strong, highly qualified teachers are in need, why would a beloved teacher be removed from a classroom simply for asking for inclusion for ALL students and teachers? Students deserve better. Teachers deserve better. What message does this send to young LGBT students who are already afraid to express themselves? OR better yet, what about those students who want to stand up for their friends against bullying or discrimination? Terminating this teacher sends a message, intentional or not. Please do the right thing MISD and rectify this.

My three children had her for their art teacher. She is the BEST there is. THE BEST!!!! What is happening to her is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!! UNREAL!!!!!! I am an ashamed graduate of Mansfield High School.
