LGBT students and staff have a right to be protected under the no discrimination policy. Mistreatment based on gender or sexual orientation is completely unacceptable.

Our family lives near Mansfield and has been considering moving to the city. If this is how it treats its employees that won't be happening.

LGBT+ and openly queer students are more likely to be harassed and bullied by their peers at alarming rates. What message is it spreading if wanting to have more open-minded discussions of inclusivity results in it being shut down for not being "age-appropriate"? They are no different from any other groups who are being protected from discrimination. So why is it that the same protections aren't being given to LGBT+ people?

Let us advocate for equal rights and protections for all our teachers, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+. They are only asking us to recognize the fullness of their humanity. It's not too much to ask for.

This teacher clearly performs her job duties and is widely respected and loved. The treatment and scrutiny is based on bigotry and qualifies as discrimination.
All identities exist. And all identities belong.
