I have worked as an artist in the classroom for over 10 years and Bailey’s mistreatment by MISD furthers my disappointment and anger in an educational system that discriminates and retaliates against persons of a different background. Excellent instructors should not be punished because of their sexual orientation.

it is okay to be a part of the LGBTQ community. If you don’t want your children to know about different sexualities then don’t talk about being straight. Be equally as mad if a teacher were to say they have the opposite sex as a husband or wife. Grow up. Seriously.

EQUALITY - I am straight, someone else is gay, big deal, we are human beings and deserve equality; anti gay speech is no different than segregation based on color, or religion - bigotry is bigotry, plan and simple.

People should be free to talk about LGBTQ rights and other things around the subject. Just because parents are to nervous to tell their children about what is actually in the world doesn't mean we should have rights to talk about it.
