I found this heartbreaking. I signed this so the word can get out and hopefully will allow more awareness for how badly people it the LGBT+ community can be treated.

Teachers like Bailey deserve protection for discrimination against LBGT rights. Bailey deserves to teach, and is the exact type of teacher as a parent I would give anything to have for my child. Protections should be in place to prevent the very thing happening right now with her and the school, and give her the voice she deserves.

I was salutatorian of Mansfield HS in 2011. I grew up in Mansfield and was a student in MISD from K-12. I am incredibly disappointed at the actions of our district. I have been inspired and loved by so many faculty members in MISD, so much so that they inspired me to become a teacher as well. It's disheartening to see that a community that was always willing to accept and support me will not designate the same rights for everyone.

I’m an elem art teacher in Madison, WI. I teach artists of many identities including racial, cultural, sexual and gender identities. My district supports this and provides resources for this work as all districts should.
