A good teacher should not be suspended for their core identity, especially since she devoted her all to her students as well as never pushed her sexuality on her students. She simply is queer, and that's just part of who she is, not some agenda.

We shouldn’t have to petition or sign letter for protection. Lgbt right are human rights. No if and or buts. There no discussion rights are rights. I though we lived in a civilized country that treated each other fair. I guess not if you fall into the lgbt category. This needs to stop now lgbt right are human rights.

I’m a senior in high school in NC, but I was born in south Texas where my parents taught for seven years. I am also bisexual and came out at 15. I grew up learning from my family that different sexualities were okay. I had teachers that supported me and showed me that I wasn’t strange, that who I am is valid, that I had a place to belong in school. Having LGBTQ+ teachers, as well as allies amongst the staff, is incredibly important to help educate children that everyone is different, and that’s okay. No one can influence one’s sexuality, not even teachers, because if that were the case, I would’ve been straight - yes, I had LGBTQ+ teachers, but the only teachers I had that would discuss their sexuality and relationships were the heterosexual ones.
