No male teacher would ever be disciplined for mentioning his wife, and no female teacher for mentioning her husband. This is blatantly about allowing homophobia to dictate school policy. Do we want to teach inclusion or exclusion? The choice is ours.

This teacher sounds awesome! And she seems like she is just reaching the kids the info on all types of different arts... also is able to show everyone that she is who she is and loves herself no matter what and wants all people to be who they want to be with no judgement or worry (:

Teachers and students, and any other person you meet on the street, or at the grocery store, or the park, should have the right to not feel the need, or be forced to hide their identity for the sake of some special snowflake conservative. That teacher should not have been suspended for mentioning her wife. It's completely normal for a man to love a man or a woman to love a woman.

We'll shove heterosexual romantic relationships via Disney down the throats of our children from the moment they're born, but any mention of real people with same sex relationships and people no longer deserve their jobs? The superintendent has stated he's married to a woman. Bailey should be able to state she's married to a woman. It's not obscene, people.

She was speaking about her wife just as any heterosexual married person speak she of their spouse- not sexually inappropriate comments. Gay marriage is legal. This is a no brainer. MISD will be facing huge legal issues. Put her back in the classroom and move on.
