This won't be a solution to stop traffic at peak hours. Possible solution - pull in for busses to allow traffic to flow. and proper cycle lanes on road.

The traffic is only a problem for two hours five days a week and 38 weeks a year.

Quite apart from any other consequence, the safety of school children on Lexden Road is seriously threatened. Think again!

Another absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary waste of money. Just like the Mile End Road cycle lane, 3 months in and counting, awful disruption for the residents, wish there had been a protest like this for that.

As a member of cycling UK the idea of a shared path is a very dangerous proposition. Taking into account children walking to school listening to their music through earphones, who are oblivious to what is going on around them, this is an accident waiting to happen.

This is a awful waste of Tax Payers Money, There are alternative options and these should be explored,I also feel the Bus Services are not efficient they could utilise smaller Buses during off peak times as they are lumbering down Lexden Avenue Empty the majority of the time, The Fares are not reasonable given the subsidies they receive !!

A complete waste of time and money. More park and rides around Colchester would be a much better investment.

I was travelling on a 65 bus with a friend. I asked her whether she thought there is room for an additional bus lane and she said no. The existing traffic lanes and pavements are just about of adequate width. Scrap this ridiculous proposal and have park and ride from Tollgate.

Lexden road is pretty much empty except for 0800-0900 and 1500-1600 so it would be a massive waste of time and money.

Combining Cyclists with Pedestrians on a busy road in a narrow lane is not a great idea in my opinion.

it is ridiculous to do this project which will ruin the character of the road when all that is required is common sense by all. How about giving all school children free bus travel to avoid lots of cars using this route? Wouldn't cost as much and far easier to do.

As a parent this concerns me as my children have to cycle to school on what is already a dangerous road.

This proposal is even more stupid than the crouch st cycle lane.

It is the Council's responsibility to mitigate risk not increase risk to pedestrians (especially children). Behavioural patterns of pedestrianns in Crouch Street show how cycle lanes on pavements are treated and that is only on a short stretch!

These changes will make no difference whatsoever to the users of this road. There are far more pressing issues regarding roads in Colchester which should be addressed first. This is a conservation area and should be kept unchanged.

Money would be better spent on filling in the pot holes.
