I oppose the scheme in its current form . I think the letter dated 4th June 2016 describing the scheme is blatantly misleading. THEY ARE NOT CREATING A NEW SHARED FOOTWAY!!!!! they are in actual fact REDUCING SPACE FOR PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS AND GIVING IT TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC. I would ONLY support a scheme that discourages private car use and encourages bus usage if it was NOT at the expense of cyclists and extremely vulnerable pedestrians (SCHOOL CHILDREN ). I have never seen such a poorly conceived "road improvement scheme" . WALKING AND CYCLING MUST BE ENCOURAGED - not made unbearable.

Stupid idea, worse for traffic, worse for school kids, this will NOT alleviate any issues. The traffic is bad for less than an hour in the mornings and afternoons, is it really worth the cost?

This proposal of a bus lane is totally unnecessary and will put the vast number of school children who use this road in danger.

Much like the "waste of money" park and ride with its dedicated bus lane, this proposal has not been thought through. Clearly the decision makers are people who do not live in Colchester (Lexden) and don't visit the filthy, disappointing town centre (far from thriving). It's a ridiculous decision to spend ridiculous amounts of money on a dedicated bus lane.

This is a very sub-optimal solution to a very particular problem. I am vehemently against the Lexden Road bus lane.

Safety of children is utmost. Need to discuss with local residents importantly at the top of Lexden Road near Lexden Crown this is a major hazard

Too many schools on that road with pedestrian access needed for the children to get to them.

A ridiculous waste of time and money. There will be accidents and injuries with the loss of the path.
