Another ridiculous plan put forward by Rodney Bass in his ivory towers at Chelmsford. About time he started listening to the people who live in Colchester and stopped riding rough shod all over us.

Kindly consider the safety of the many children you use these pavements to and from school everyday. The road works well enough just as it is!

This will be dangerous for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists alike. Particularly children.

Such an ill-thought out idea (has it been thought out?). I worry for the school children. The waste of money is secondary but should be mentioned. How about sorting out the absurd parking near the Lexden Crown first which causes more delay than anything else?

We don't need a bus lane and it will be dangerous for schoolchildren to share the pavement with cyclists

Cyclist on the pavement would be too dangerous they go too fast on the pavement as it is, with no thought for people on foot.

This is an ill advised and dangerous scheme.

This a Backward Step

This scheme is dangerous and unnecessary, especially dangerous for the hundreds of school children who need wide pavements without being mown down by the occasional cyclist who uses this road.

I just don't see any advantage that would be gained. The traffic problems along Lexden Road occur for an hour am and an hour pm only.

I oppose this plan unnecessary and I believe it will be a danger to all using the road and pavement.

Waste of money when the problem is for 1hr a day!

A total waste of public money and resources.

A waste of money for a problem which occurs for around 1.5 hours a day.

This outrageous waste of money will make traffic flow slower - and significantly less safe for pedestrians!

Completely unnecessary and far too dangerous and must be stopped.

I think the main question that has to be answered is, "do buses hold up traffic, for significant periods?", and I believe the answer is "no". Therefore I see no reasonable basis for this proposed plan.

Cyclists on pavement with hundreds of school kids? You're joking! No tailbacks on this road EXCEPT during school opening/closing hour
