What problem exactly is this useless scheme supposed to solve? Dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians. Not wanted by residents. The Highways budget is obviously too big as it keeps being applied to idiotic schemes. Who is supposed to benefit?

We oppose creation of bus lane on lexden road. It is totally unnecessary and hazardous for children using lexden road for accessing their schools.

Narrower pavements and significantly increased congestion is patently dangerous on a road lined by so many schools.

How ridiculous! What's the justification for this waste of money? There's no need for it. Narrowing the pavements and forcing cyclists onto it will only make it more dangerous for pedestrians.

Absurd idea. The only possible way in which this could work would be to make the road one way.

A waste of money, will spoil the look of the road and, most importantly, will be a danger to all the kids going to and from school.

I believe that implementation of the bus lane would increase congestion and also put the school children's safety at risk, neither of which would be beneficial for the town.
