Concerned about school children's safety. Furthermore, road only busy twice a day and that is only during week days during term time.

Lexden Road is only busy twice a day. This will not solve the issue and is a complete waste of time and money.

I don't think it's safe for children walking along a narrow pavement when cyclists are coming down the other way, having traffic is better than children dying.

This will present a real danger to the hundreds of schoolchildren who go to the multiple schools along Lexden road

Thousands of children use these pavements every weekday going to and from school. How can it be safe to squeeze them into a narrower pavement shared with bicycles and so close to buses?

Let's celebrate Lexden Road for its wide
boulevard, leafy expanse and the wealth of schooling along that short
stretch which provides young minds with knowledge and space to be safe
getting to and from their respective schools. The expansion of Colchester is as much about our children as it is bikes and buses.

Great idea - not! All this will do is create more congestion.! How many buses use this road per hour? Even at peak times? Whoever thought this idea up is an idiot of the first degree.

This is a safety hazard especially for school children and a waste of money. It would be better to repair roads than waste money on this ill-advised scheme.

Needs double yellow lines in the narrow parts outside Lexden Crown and stop buses parking outside the schools instead. This proposal is an accident waiting to happen - pupils already spill onto the road with the pavement as it is

I object due to the distuption, traffic implications and narrowing of the road.

This would endanger the lives of so many children who go to one of the 8 schools in the area - to narrow the pavement and allow cyclists to share this with pedestrians is just madness. Please reconsider

I oppose the narrowing of the path and combining pedestrians and cyclists due to the safety of schoolchildren who as young people should not have their safety compromised which will occur if these proposals are implemented. Children en masse and paths shared with bikes next to main roads do not mix it is unfair to children who should have greater consideration than other road and path users . As a resident where bus lanes were installed from experience it is a lengthy nightmare when happening and Colchester will be a gridlock, but for me the children predominate someone could be seriously injured or killed by a speeding cyclist or physical overspill onto the main road at school start and end times.

Lexden village is beautiful. Don't ruin it.
