Lexden Road is a focus for Colchester Schools. While buses are obviously important, so it is the option of safe walking and cycling to school, which should not be downgraded

This road will become congested as soon as a Bus does a pickup.
We need more cycle lanes not less of them.

It would be harder to cross the road as a Colchester student and it puts our lives at risks :(

Leave well alone , this proposal will make the road extremely hazardous to both pedestrians and cyclists.

This proposal will not ease congestion and will be very dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists many of whom will be children and young people travelling to and from the many s hooks in this area .

I go to school in the Lexden area. I feel that a bus lane is wrong, and will be bad for students walking on the pavements and for their safety. It'll be nice to see our council spend on something with more benefit and less controversy

Creating a bus will not decrease the traffic congestion ! The money would be better spent on looking into ways to ease the flow of traffic especially during peak times!

This is not a good proposal, as it will jeopardize the circulation of green means of transport. In addition, the measure will damage a traditionally historic part of Colchester. The benefits are relative, insofar as the need for a bus lane in this part of town is questionable.

1. Safety for our children is primary concern.
2. No to narowing of pavements
3. Conversation area and this proposed bus lane will be damaging to the character of road.
4. No need for this bus lane.
5. I live in Lexden road and my son attends school in Lexden road and I am totally opposed to this proposal

The school children are crammed enough on that road waiting for their buses. It would be incredibly dangerous to implement this idea.

I think something needs to be done, but this is not the answer. I would like to see a range of options presented
