This will cause massive tail backs especially at school term time,Colchester is grid locked as it is and more housing too will bring it to a stand still

Not needed and a danger to pedestrians especially schoolchildren.

You have just put in cycle lanes on the lexden road now you want to put cyclists on the pavement . why not put double yellow lines at the top end of lexden road instead to stop the chaos there which is caused by the narrowing of the road at busy times

We should really look at maintaining and repairing our road rather than increasing congestion, by putting a bus lane in

Lexden road is busy for 40 min in the mornings and around 3 pm on schooldays only. That is the time where more pedestrians especially children are walking to school. The bus lane is a dangerous proposal .

This is unnecessary at this austere time, not to mention the impact on traffic flows!

It is appalling for ECC to waste money on this project for a bus lane on Lexden road. It will be extremely dangerous for there to be narrower pavements and to be shared with cyclists as well. Have the planners actually been on site at school time!

This will be dangerous and total waste of taxpayers money

This will endanger children and ruin the road. Waste of money that could be better spent. We don't need it. The road is only busy for a short period each day. MLD pupils who have been travel trained will not understand the new layout.

This is a dangerous and unnecessary use of tax payers' money.

This is an unnecessary idea that will do little to assist traffic flow. It will be only operating in one direction, where traffic flows well except for a peak 30 minutes. The proposed joint pedestrian and cycle lane is potentially very dangerous. Please drop and think of better measures.

A waste of money. Money can be spent in a better ways on projects in REAL need. LOOK at the blue car that creates the bottle neck at Lexden Crown surely this is a REAL need to ease congestion.

These proposals are completely unnecessary, dangerous and a waste of money.

Both my children attend Lexden schools and I share the concern that narrowing the pavements creates greater risk for those attending local schools, a risk not justified by what is likely to be marginal or no gain in bus access or journey times.

An unnecessary proposal for congestion between 8.00am and 9.00am. 15.50 and 16.30, which will not improve traffic flow but will increase danger to pedestrians and cyclists with the proposal to narrow pavements and allow due use pedestrians/cyclists. not a very well thought out alteration to Lexden Road.

Leave Lexden road alone. There is not enough room for bus lanes. Faster moving traffic will be a disaster for the hundreds of children who walk from the 8 schools that are on Lexden road , Norman way and Sussex Road.

To narrow the pavements along Lexden Rd will endanger all the pedestrians and cyclists that use it. No need for a bus lane as its only busy for max two hours a day in term time.
