Ban the hunt and stop the Southdown & Eridge Fox Hunt.
Do not close the Lewes High Street on Boxing Day 2015.

Hunting is illegal and has been for years. Despite the pomp and claims of glory and tradition it's a shameful relic of the past that should never be encouraged or celebrated. Please do not give this barbaric pastime a platform to revel in suffering and bloodlust in Lewes this Boxing Day.

please do not allow Lewis High Strreet to be closed on Boxing Day to allow the hunt meet fox hunting is illegal and cruel if you close the road means you support illegal activities and the violent attacks on hunt monitors which in the past have led to people been hospitalised theft of property and criminal damage against hunt monitors by hunt supporters most of the monitors are members of the public who a left to try and check to see they are breaking the law by fox hunting not trail hunting and the majority of people do not want the cruel fox hunting which I say again is illegal to be allowed with the help of Lewis council

If 5his is true you are aiding an illegal activity. Does that not give cause for concern?

I am one of the 80% of the population who abhor fox hunting. There is much evidence that Hunts flout the Hunting Act at any every opportunity. I don't see why a public place should be closed to the public for this despised minority, who won't accept that their time has now passed into history.

This hunt should be monitored by the police. As they are not able (or willing) this road must be kept open for the public to be able to prevent the law being broken by illegal hunting.

Hunting may look pretty on calendars. It is an activity whihc results in the violent death of a small animal just to give pleasure to a group of people who enjoy killing. This is not, surely, something that should be supported by the council.

Nothing else but totally barbaric sport for disrespectful people. What is the problem with a more humane method in controlling foxes?...nothing.

Fox hunting is still banned - why support a hunt in this way. The majority of people do not want to see a return of hunting so presumably would not want Lewes High Street closed.

This kind of barbarism has no place in the modern world and should be confined to the history books.
