This is a barbaric outdated activity that is not a "sport". Carried out by mindless thugs who, for some strange reason only known to themselves and their nearest and dearest (if they have any), need this sort of aggression and violence in their lives. It is beyond belief that anyone could enjoy watching a terrified wild creature chased for hours until it collapses through exhaustion then cheer when it is ripped to pieces in agony by a pack of hounds. I despair for the future of our countryside. I have many farmers friends who are anti this bloodthirsty activity as it isn't effective and causes so much damage to the countryside.

I personally witness illegal hunting in my area. It is quite wrong that people regularly breaking the law and using intimidation to protect themselves should be given the social approval and backing of the District Council implicit in closing roads to accommodate their Boxing Day meet.
