This Hunt has a proven history of violence against others. Their activities are illegal.Don't support them by allowing them meet in Lewes.

Because the hunt acts outside of the law, so why would a government agency assist them? Taxpayers / voters object to the practice of hunting.

My family were planning to visit, but won't if hunting criminals are allowed to attend. Nasty thugs the lot of them.

Christmas time is for family & about love & blessings. It is not about murdering defenceless animals & blocking towns with uncontrollable dogs, horses etc. Many people visit relatives & do not need added dangers like this to contend with too. The vast majority of the public do not support this activity in the first place, so why are they allowed in a highly public area, especially at a time of peace & goodwill.

By closing Lewes High Street and allowing the hunt to parade on Boxing Day you will be condoning criminals and ignoring the fact that 80% of the British public do not want hunting returned unlike the Southdown & Eridge.

It is ironic that anyone should support an illegal act and this outdated cruel SPORT should be confined to the history books!

Any council that supports such meets are assisting people/groups of potentially committing a criminal act,the law is the law!

Despite the overwhelming support to keep the ban the minority still believe it is their right. Show them democracy and commonsense prevail and revoke the practice of allowing the hunt to pass through Lewes high street.

This hunt is clearly violent and should not be allowed to have the high street closed on their behalf when 80% of the population don't want a return to fox hunting .

80% of people are opposed to hunting. Lewes District Council are obviously supporting hunting by closing the High Street on Boxing Day to allow the hunt to meet there.

Would this be allowed if it was a large group of teenagers meeting up to drink alcohol then go and abuse an animal especially if someone was stabbed during the proceeding? I don't think so!

We are supposed to be a civilised society and the killing of animals for "fun" has no place in the modern world. People should show more respect to other creatures on this planet that have as much right to life as we do.
