We are already restricted far too much, this is ridiculous. If the government WERE serious about reducing gun associated crime, they would increase the penalties for offenders, not penalise law abiding gun owners.

I am totally apposed of your new suggestion of banning lever action rifles. Guns don't kill people , unregistered firearms and poorly investigated people kill people.

It's about time you stopped putting us in the same category as mass murderers !! We live to obey the law and keep our families safe .. What actions have they done to stop the possession of firearms in the criminal community ?

Stop targeting legally acquired firearms and start concentrating on illegally obtained weapons. Big difference.

I do not believe that these rules will make any difference in criminals not doing the crimes involving guns all this is doing is taking the rights away from legal gun owners in a sport the love please note im not a shooter or have a license but taking away legal rights like this is not on i belive if this happens what will stop the goverment taking away other rights of law abiding australians

Why should honest, law abiding people be punished for the actions of a criminal minority?
This is completely unjustifiable and is the polar opposite of what it means to be a free society.

Changing this will only effect decent honest people. If someone want to go on a killing spree they can just as easily drive a car into a crowd or poison people. Guns don't kill people, people kill people

It is not the guns that commit crimes. It is usually people whom do not have registered firearms or licences . Abbott leave our guns alone when we purchased leaver actions they were perfectly legal leave them that way.

I have owned firearms since I was 21 years old, I hve been an avid shooter for more than 40 years I have never broken any firearm laws and in 1996 at the buy back I surrendered my SLR mySKK and my SPAS 12,which I used regular for hunting and for range work. I still shoot competition and I hunt , but no way in the world will I give up my right to feed my family ( venison, wild fowl and rabbit) and defend my family and property without a firearm
