Current gun laws work fine. We're currently a model of successful firearms legislation. Any changes would be an unnecessary, draconian, infringement on the freedom of law-abiding citizens.

Re-categorising rifles will not stop criminals, it just affects the law abiding innocent licence holders! Don't slap us with change or take away what we have. A minority shouldn't affect us all. Don't see alcohol being banned yet look at the drink driving offences!!!!

Gun laws are already far too stict and people who know nothing about guns are making the laws. Maybe we should consult the legal gun owners and clubs and speak to them new Zealand has more relaxed laws and more crime rates. Save with Sweden's. Our laws are a joke abd will never prevent a criminal from acquiring a weapon.

Even though I am not a gun owner I am backing this petition because I believe that the move to re-categorise and/or ban these guns is unjustified.
My stance on this matter would accurately reflect the letter that is being sent to Tony Abbott.
