As a hockey coach of both a 16AA and 18AA team I would fully support any player of mine who would be given this tremendous opportunity and hope the league would see to it that the player would be given the opportunity and not be forced to choose.

What a fantastic accomplishment for this young man! He is loyal enough to stay and play with the Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes instead of going the Junior Hockey route, and talented enough to represent his country! He has worked hard at his craft, and deserves to have both hockey opportunities! Do the correct thing WIAA and let Ty play in the Youth Olympic Games for the U.S.A., and return to play for Eau Claire Memorial!

Ty and future athletes should be able to represent his country and then come back and represent his high school. Ty has earned both opportunities. Using dates the Junior Olympics takes place, as your waiver denying positioning doesn't make sense, nor is it in Ty's control. The WIAA needs to make an exemption for players selected to represent their country in season.

Ty will be representing Wisconsin hockey for a long time to come. Let him finish out his high school year AND represent our country. Don't punish him and take away his chance to be a kid and play with his brother and frineds.
