There should be exceptions for opportunities such as playing in the Olympics. This is an opportunity that the WIAA should encourage and embrace.

This should not be a "choose one or the other" situation.
Don't penalize a kid for earning opportunities through hours upon hours of hard work.

Ty is a talented player. It should always be an honor to play for your country and not be punished for doing so. Ty deserves to go back and play for his high school. The WIAA needs to educate themselves better with regard to hockey and the advantages for these talented players to play for Team USA. The hockey community has your back Ty! LET HIM PLAY!

Why penalize a kid pursuing his dreams. It isn't like he is shrugging off his responsibility to the team to go play pond hockey. This is the OLYMPICS.

Clearly, the rules are designed to prevent teams from loading their rosters with AAA and Junior kids for the playoffs, but this isn't the case. Ty was a member of the team before the opportunity to represent his country in international competition, and he should be allowed to return.
