Save football!

This decision was made the day the new President arrived at WC. She can cut out Football, golf and lacrosse, but she can create a high paying job for her son!!!!!

Shameful conduct by Whittier College in attempting this.

It is time that the administration and Board answer to the alumni of Whittier.

I couldn’t have said this better myself!

I am both mad and disappointed in the leadership of Whittier College. I push for a vote of no-confidence in the President and Board of Trustees due to their extreme lack of character in the handling of this rash decision. Only a weak leader would hide behind others with such a decision. What a downfall. With over a decade in athletics and education, I know first hand how sports can help students excel academically. According to the current AD (Zoom Town hall 11/16/22) the decision to cancel lacrosse was expedited. How dare you allow sports to continue recruitment under the guise of the student-athletes and their families committing to this relationship when you stab them in the back for lack of better terms. I am truly heartbroken.

LaCrosse, football and golf belong at Whittier.

This is a travesty. Please bring this program back

This will not stop with these 3 sports. Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Tennis, Waterpolo, and everything else will soon follow. This president needs to resign immediately. Her massive ego and limitless ambition is more important to her than the students and our community.

Keep the football team alive and continue to build thoughtful and tough leaders for our community!

Class of 1995. Extremely disappointed. The US continues to see an increase in obesity. Cutting athletic programs does not help. Secondly in the Presidents letter, exports is mentioned as a new program. Also felt like a replacement. While I respect those involved in gaming I don't believe it should be a replacement for athletics. Finally, there is strong chance that WC will lose students because of athletic opportunities. I ended up at WC because I wanted to continue playing baseball. WC gave me that opportunity

I enjoyed being part of the Football and Lacrosse programs during my years at Whittier College ('82-'86). They made my experience "exceptional". Please record my support for a no confidence vote. Thank you.

Cutting such historical parts of Whittier’s history for an obvious money grab is ridiculous. As an alumnus, I’m ashamed to have even graduated from Whittier now

Whittier is such a beautiful campus with so much potential- this decision is so short sided . clearly this is a reflection of poor leadership and financial management.

Stop the politics in favor of the student experience.

Cancellation of the sports programs especially football and lacrosse will hurt the college immensely. But maybe this is her intent, that’s the only thing that makes any sense.
