As a former Whittier lacrosse player and Student Body President, I call for immediate action to overturn this terrible decision. Thanks to all supporting our student athletes.

Whittier athletics including Lacrosse and football are of value to attracting students to the college. Now Las Vegas adds a team where maybe Whittier alumni could play. You took away the speech pathology program so that I couldn't finish my MA at Whittier and now this poor and destructive decision?

Athletes over time have put their heart, soul, and money into this school. It will have a negative impact for sure on Whittier College as a whole. Please keep sports alive in Whittier!

I would really like to see valid, logical arguments supporting this decision, as in my mind there are many valid arguments against it.

I am a football alumni and went to Whittier from 2008 to 2012. I played football all four years and that opportunity allowed me to become a Grad assistant for the football team in 2012. From there I was able to get a teaching credential and masters degree where I am now a high school teacher. This is clear evidence that football at Whittier gave me an opportunity to not only go to college but to achieve my dream as being a football coach and teacher. There is no reason that our football program should be shut down. The reasonings are flawed and the team should be reinstated immediately.

Please don't eliminate the sports program, it has allowed so many students the opportunity to participate in something very meaningful to them and the community! I wholeheartedly support keeping the sports programs at Whittier College!
