That seems a decent wish not knowing about that feeling before much.

The intention of the petition is noble and it's obvious from all the people signing that this is something they want. I fear I am skeptical that anything worthwhile will come of it. My preference would be to go back directly to the source of VCTR's teachings without trying to salvage SMR's personal creation of Shambhala Buddhism which never made sense to me given all VCTR taught us.

Dear Bakes, thanks so much for your heartfelt input, now is the time and the opportunity to bring the divisions we were all suffering from to a healing process. We have to use all our wisdom and rich heritage to bring this about.
I felt all this years as an outcast and neglected because I could not go along with the official version of Shambhala and turn Shambhala had taken under the direction of SMR (cynicaI I called him midget king).
It is my hope that the "current" situation is an opening, so many sangha expressed this in their comments to start fresh and overcome small minded views and institutional habits. Kiki and Soso

Reading through the many comments and recognizing many friends and acquaintances from years ago, I have experienced a range of feelings: joy, happiness, sadness and vulnerability at the bravery expressed here. I truly hope the Transition Team will take this opportunity, while the door is open, to contemplate and meditate with what has been presented here and then take action in a positive direction. The situation is ripe for a dialogue to begin, a genuine expression of enlightened society. Let's forge a path together that is inclusive and respectful of all.

Sakyong Mipham wrote a remarkable letter from his Scorpion Seal retreat in 2005 in which he clearly delineated his intention to keep the Nyingma, Kagyu, Shambhala, and Kalachakra traditions and practices respected and alive in our Sangha.

I couldn't agree more with this petition. It is to the Kagyu lineage and the Vidyadhara that I--like many others-- am devoted. I don't want to dismiss some of the teachings the
Sakyong has created, but they'd be so much richer if they were joined to the Kagyu and Nyingma lineages.

I feel that Shambhala as an enlightened society is meant to hold, support, and protect many wisdom traditions, especially the Kagyu and Nyingma lineages.

After many years as a Kagyu practitioner as well as a shambhala practitioner I feel this inclusion might add some balance to our overall tradition

Please bring back the full suite of our inheritance of wisdom. Please bring onto the transition team our full lineage wisdom of our kagyu forefathers and foremothers. I am a scorpion seal 10 practitioner and work daily with new students in the small community in a largish city. Even new students, because of the internet know about our inheritance and want both shambhala and kagyu traditions. They are frustrated. I can teach the kagyu but they have no place to go to further that connection. Their karma is strong for the kagyu, but " ok, I will settle for shambhala".
Pleas bring back our full richness into the core path of the shambhala lineage.
Tilopa cries to us from his dimension. Cries into our ears. Please bring our community back to Tilopa as a heart gift.
