We have lived in this community for 22 years and I grew up in Berkeley and Oakland. I have seen crime over the years increase and decrease. However, the blatant crime and criminals we encounter in our neighborhoods is definitely on the rise! We need help now!

please take this very seriously. my wife and I have only lives in Oakland for a year and a half but things have gotten noticeably worse in that time. if things don't get better in our community we will be forced to leave this city in search of a more stable environment for ourselves and our future children.

We have only lived in the neighborhood for a year and have already been burglarized, seen blatant prostitution and drug use on our street, in broad daylight. We appreciate the efforts of the police officers we have seen and met, but we need more.

Our neighborhood has been a hotspot for crime over the past two years, but it seems that OPD does not have the tools to detect this, per our liaison officer. We need more attention than we have been getting. We should not have to resort to hiring private security to protect us. Elected officials and OPD, please take note!!!
