Petition To the Bridgeport Planning and Zoning Commission

I was born and raised in Black Rock. Our neighborhood needs affordable housing that does not encroach on residents and can be supported by the existing infrastructure. The proposal as it currently stands would be devastating for our community.

This space can not accommodate such an ambitious project. Court land Ave is the neighborhood’s primary access to Fairfield Ave., it doesn’t need nor can it handle the additional amount of traffic a unit of this size would generate.

I just know they’ll build something tacky and garish, not in keeping with the town’s neighborhood. Black Rock is coming back on its own with a community spirit and we don’t need some NJ developer to ruin it for us.

The structure is way too large for the space.

Even more, make it all affordable housing.

Housing housing housing… does our mayor have a fetish for housing development. Get creative or get lost.

There are too many condos going in around here. We do not have the infrastructure to support any more in black rock. Thank raking is already impossible everywhere and city services are spread thin enough. Please do not build another condo structure here. We would benefit from a park or more trees.

Make it fit the neighborhood and it’s neighbors and everyone will be happy.

It is too big for this part of Black Rock. It will off set The avenue . Scale it down. There are high rise apartments being built on Brewster and Canfield that off set the neighborhood

Will exacerbate existing parking issues on surrounding streets. Move forward with this in a way that does not involve the community and you will risk your tenants receiving continuous complaints because they are parking illegally, and whatever retail shops may exist not having any support of the local neighborhood.

Please preserve the beautiful Black Rock community!

We welcome a development proposal that is appropriately scaled for our beloved neighborhood, thoughtfully designed to be an asset to our environment and quality of life, and above all a process that is transparent and respectful of the concerns and wishes of the community.

This will be a blight on our community. We already have two housing structures going up with expensive apartments nobody can afford. No more of these useless expensive complexes damaging our tight knit neighborhood.

No to a 3 and/or 4 story building

Get with the neighbors and the neighborhood, Mr. Developer and their local engineer and lawyer hacks!

I'm in Black Rock and drive directly through this construction zone which has already made traffic a nightmare. Once hundreds of new residents with personal vehicles move in, without any improvement it'll be chaos.

Its unnecessary, builder probably wants it because they can claim its close to the train station and upcharge the rent.

The space is too small, not a safe location for the already busy and bustling intersection and will create more parking issues for current residents and during inclement weather.

There is no room for parking for 54 units, and this will be a traffic nightmare for the 2 side streets off Fairfield Avenue.

This project is way too big for this site and will cause considerable traffic congestion in an already busy area. Mixed space yes. 50+ apartments no.
