I just moved to this community less than a year ago for the charm and style of homes and the people., I would hate to see the community lose all of that . I agree 100% If they do not willingly adhere to the guidelines that had been set fourth by the town/community they should be serious consequences.

Black Rock is a historic 375+ year old vibrant quaint Bridgeport community with a generally low-building profile.
The size and height of the proposed building will have a major detrimental effect on our historic neighborhood. A 5-story, 52 unit structure is too massive and the building design is not in keeping with the historic nature of the surrounding neighborhood.
Additionally, Black Rock already struggles with over-crowded on-street parking and the proposed parking plans for 52 residential units is inadequate parking that will result in worsened congestion in neighborhood streets.
This location is the gateway to the Black Rock community, and this development as designed will adversely affect the integrity of the neighborhood.
I strongly request the Commission to reject current proposal and require the developer to work with the Black Rock Community Council in a redesign of this project taking into account these significant deficiencies.

Number of units needs to be based on at least 1.5 parking spaces available per unit, not including handicap or visitor spots, as many residents will have 2 cars if couples, roommates, or families.

Putting a 5-story property on Clarkson Street, a street of single family houses where I live, is a horrible idea. It will erode the value middle class Bridgeport residents have in their homes and hand it over to out-of-state private equity carpetbaggers.
It will turn a charming, quiet street into a noisy overflow parking lot for tenants and residents.
We recently moved to Clarkson Street from Fairfield where we were renting. We are proud to be homeowners in Black Rock and have plans to invest another 25% beyond the home price in improvements to our 1915-era home. If this plan were to be approved, we will not invest another nickel in our. It would be throwing good money after bad. The 3-story plan previously approved would be appropriate for the neighborhood, but not this monstrosity.
Please don’t destroy the value in the home of new homeowners like us or our hard-wirking neighbors.
Thank you for your consideration.

Happy to see a mixed use housing/ retail development here. But reconsider the scale, & how the traffic will enter: exit this quiet neighborhood.

This is project is about power, control, and money. Approve this project and show the community that local government no longer supports the will of the people. Every day is an election day.

Thoughtful develpoment is the lifeblood of any neighborhood. "Thoughtless" development is its demise. In terms of residential congeston and safety concerns alone, a development of this scale and density in this neighborhood is the poster-child for "thoughtless." It must be scaled back.

Ten pound in a five pound bag. This property should be developed, but not to this extent.

Is this how the city treats the" historic " "hidden gem" of Bridgeport ? Outrageous in size, design and occupancy. Infrastructure will fall apart with this additional overload of cars and traffic. Overflow parking onto heavily used Courtland will cause huge chaos and danger.

This size building DOES NOT belong in this neighborhood. St. Mary’s by the Sea needs to be kept as is! There are lots of improvements here that attract visitors. This building will hurt our community!!!!

This empty lot has been an eyesore for years. I would love to see it developed with apartments and retail. But this is not the right plan for our neighborhood.

The proposed development would compromise local residents that depend on street parking to support the dwellings that already exist in the neighborhood. What Black Rock needs is a shared public use space, basketball court, perhaps small playground area and a few benches and trees!!!!
